Yesterday I attended and took photographs for The Community Foundation of Kingston & Area‘s Speaker series which hosted author, editor and veteran journalist, Lawrence Scanlan. He spoke on the subject of his latest book, “A Year of Living Generously: Dispatches from the Front Lines of Philanthropy.” I was very interested in learning about his experiences volunteering both within our community and abroad. Spending an entire year dedicated to volunteering allowed him to see first hand the truth behind people’s suffering: unemployment, homelessness, without food, friends or family. We were educated on some of the programs that work, and the political policies that do not and what our role is as a part of the global village to help make it better. Thank you Larry for an inspiring morning!
David is an actor and came to see me to update his head shots. We had a good time noodling around town finding stairwells, alleyways and quieter streets to shoot in. He was pretty much game for my ideas and from the shots above you can see we didn’t always just stick with close up face shots. The bottom right black and white image was David mimicking a Bob Dylan pose – fun.
