A wedding at The Cove Country Inn had me on top of Foley Mountain looking down on the quaint village of Westport, ON along the Rideau River.
I liked how both of them were finishing writing their speeches at the exact same time in separate buildings.
Andrea and Dave share a lot in common, one of them being their love for the great outdoors – a great fit for this nature-loving photographer! I soon realized that out of all the weddings I have photographed, only one of them has taken place inside a church.
Andrea so much wanted have photographs on top of the mountain that she donned big rubber boots, hiked up her wedding dress and was game for anything I had to offer. How do you not love a hearty gal?? The elegance of her ivory wedding dress juxtaposed against the wild forest complimented one another beautifully.
This is going to be a small sneak peek for the bride as I still have work to do, so I hope to post more images once I’m all done editing!
I photographed my first wedding of 2013 this past Saturday at the Cove Country Inn. I feel grateful for this day on many accounts. Booking a wedding in January, you don’t know what the weather is going to present to you and this particular bride was interested in outdoor photographs on top of Foley Mountain. Yikes! What if it’s minus 27 degrees?! What if there’s a blizzard?! What if everything is covered in ice?! Well the gods were more than good and gave us plus 7 degrees and overcast skies, perfect weather for outdoor photography any time of year, but especially in January.
I’m currently working away editing images of the wedding, and was stopped short by these two images. I LOVE the way the shadows have picked up these black and white images. The last image in particular makes me think of a painting. The bride is a lover of old black and white images, so I hope she loves these as much as I do.
More to come folks!
