Dogs’ lives are too short. Their only fault, really. ~Agnes Sligh Turnbull

This is Logan. He is my four-legged friend. I call him Logie and squeeze and kiss him fiercely whenever I see him. He is SUCH a good boy. He has a gentle nature and his fur is oh-so-soft. I first met Logie in my past life as a dog walker. His mom and dad and I have quickly become friends because of him.

Early on in September I learned Logan was unwell with cancer and b/c we didn’t know how long his general good health would be sustained, I offered to take some portraits of him for the family as a keepsake of their shared love. Together we went to his favourite walking water hole where he ran, swam and hunted about the long grass. He was difficult to pin down without him being a big blur in every shot!

It was wonderful to see him acting like himself despite his internal illness. Sadly, barely a week passed from our session when I was told he had passed away. My sweet friend. I feel very thankful to have known such a gentle boy and grateful we made the time to do our shoot when we did.

From Logan’s mom, “I can’t say enough how special the pictures are to me. The pictures of Logan are exceptional. I love them all. The fact that you so generously offered to take them for us, how well they turned out and the fact that they are a wonderful memory of being with my lovable family! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!”
