This image was taken on the weekend while I was at the cottage b/c waffles are perfectly okay, even recommended on the weekend, right? Right. But what about the work week? Because I have found myself having one for breakfast both yesterday and today, and my logic is this, it’s summer and they taste so darn yummy especially with berries, why would I choose anything else to have in the morning? And by morning I mean evening too, b/c these waffles just happen to be the perfect dessert to a summer meal. I have become a waffle junkie.
Thursday was a good day. I got a bunch accomplished in the morning hours, had a great lunch with a friend, met a couple for a downtown photo session and then hopped over to Trish and Frank’s for dinner and this delicious cake you see here. I don’t know its official name, but I’m calling it Blueberry Poppy Seed Bundt Cake. This image feels like Spring for me, revealing the light colours of Easter, the purple and pink of the tablecloth, blueberries and tulips combined.
I’m just now getting this image off my camera. I had completely forgot about my pie images since I decided on a whim to take some pictures while baking. Anyone remember the way Billy Crystal said “pecan pie” in the movie When Harry Met Sally? Peeecan Piiiiie. No one? <sigh> oh well.
I adore pecan pie. Correction. I adore my mom’s recipe for pecan pie. I was educated many years ago that although a simple recipe, not all pecan pie has a gorgeous taste. I baked up mom’s recipe for Thanksgiving. It was delicious as expected. 😉
