Most winter nights I can look out my upstairs east facing window and see the lights glowing from our local rink. From time to time I can see bodies gliding around the ice too. I have been itching to take a night photograph of the rink and lights for a long time now. One mild enough evening, I pulled my camera bag over my shoulder and headed over. Did I execute exactly what I saw in my minds eye? No. But I take satisfaction in trying, in doing something I have been resisting.
Last week while out for my regular walk it began to snow while still staying fairly mild, so I promised myself that I would return to the outdoors with my camera in hand and make images just for me. Here are some of the results. The triptych is roughage found at the side of the gravel road. Bits here and there sticking up out of the snow. Their graphic feel appeals to me. What are your thoughts?
I’m not finished editing this lot yet, but knew it was high time I posted some images and what better way to start the new year than with a newborn. This little bunny is 6 days old, born shortly before Christmas day. A little sister to a big brother. She was a gem during our shoot, sleeping easily throughout. I know the changes in her are already showing from only 2 weeks ago… how fast we grow.
