I’m pretty thrilled to see my image on the cover of The Abrams Brothers latest CD, Northern Redemption. To have an image of mine be seen on another form of media is exciting for me. If you grew up during the time of turntables, I would liken the experience of seeing your work on an LP, something you would see lying on the living room carpet, looked at, touched, liner notes read and reread.
I had the pleasure of photographing The Abrams Brothers a couple of Sundays ago on Wolfe Island. We were shooting for the cover of their new soon to be released CD and John wanted our session to take place by a big tree in an open field. When we drove up to the location, he was floored at how perfectly this tree fit into his visualization. John, James and Eli are young professionals accomplishing great music. They draw on a long family tradition of performing bluegrass music that they’ve brought to cities across N.A. and Europe. In fact, they are the youngest Canadians to ever play at the Grand Ole Opry. Take a look at their tour dates to see if they’re playing near you this summer.
