b&w 35mm film
I was told yesterday after I lovingly and actively used my Hasselblad to shoot film for my own personal pleasure, that the film was defective which equals no images. Sigh. This news made me go back in my memory bank at the images I shot, where I was located, the feeling I had while capturing many of them to realize they will not see the light of day, and my overall feeling is, it doesn’t matter. The experience of using my beautiful, old film camera and the feeling it gives me each time I use it out weighs the results. I was excited to see the results. That is one thing digital has taken away from our collective photographic experience, the wait and anticipation of your work. I like that. Another time though. I will continue to use film for the pure pleasure it gives me in the moment, not in the result.
